Tim Vaughan
Tim Vaughan is a young and highly respected trainer on the way up. Based in Cowbridge, South Wales, and extremely ambitious, Tim only took out his license in 2007/08 and since then has rapidly scaled the heights, increasing both the number of winners and total earnings every single season. Last season (2010/11), for the first time he broke into the top 10 of National Hunt trainers with 91 winners. So far 2011/12 is also looking good with another top 10 finish on the cards, and with 84 winners as of 1 January, this season should prove to be his most successful yet as he aims to break the 100 winners barrier for the first time!
And just because Tim is based in Wales, don’t think all his horses will be running just at Chepstow and Ffos Las! Tim takes his runners all over the country and pays regular visits to high profile tracks such as Ascot, Newbury, Haydock and Aintree as well of course as Cheltenham. Smaller tracks such as Market Rasen & Fontwell don’t go unnoticed either, and he’s even had runners up at Sedgefield and Catterick, so wherever you are in England & Wales the chances are he will have runners not too far from you.

We at Cleeve Hill Racing genuinely believe in Tim as a trainer and that’s why our current horses are with him, and any future horses will be also based with him. Apart from his obvious ability to train, Tim is a really genuine and knowledgeable guy, and despite having an extremely busy operation to run, always seems to have the time to make all his owners feel at home, whether you’ve got 5% of a horse or a string of 50 horses!
During 2012, we will be organizing regular trips down to Tim’s yard (usually on a Saturday morning, and usually once every 6 weeks or so) for new owners or potential new owners, in order to sample the atmosphere of the yard, and of course to see our horses at work on the gallops. As well as these, there are other social visits scheduled for 2012, namely the summer BBQ and the Christmas party – for more information on those, please check out our events page.
The stables are easy to find and well signposted from the main road – if you would like to be part of one of our visits please contact us to book your place.
